Pointe
Pointe is the study of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which ballet dancers support all their body weight on the tips of fully vertical feet. Pointe work is performed while wearing blocked structurally reinforced shoes known as pointe shoes. These shoes help distribute the dancer’s weight load throughout the foot, thus reducing the full load on the toes themselves. With hard work and determination, pointe can radiate elegance and gracefulness like no other.
WHAT TO WEAR?
Attire is simple but specific. Dancers wear a black bodysuit, pink tights and pink pointe shoes. Hair must be up and tied in a bun.
